Great Finds: Superhero Mascara by iT Cosmetics

I love sharing a great find, especially mascara which is REALLY… REALLY hard to find a GREAT one. I’m pretty sure you’ll enjoy this one!

Maybelline Great Lash Mascara - It’s nice n’ all… but sometimes you need something MORE.

Mascara is one of those makeup bag items where when you found one you like, you generally stick with it. For years I was using the classic Maybelline Great Lash Mascara in Black - I still think its one of the best and if you have yet to try it, it’s a nice one. The wand is very easy to deal with and the product doesn’t flake.

But I wanted something MORE. I had been using the same thing for years and I’ve seen all of these fancy mascaras at my favorite Ulta - surely there’s one that will knock my socks off?

When I tell you this ended up being a very expensive exploration, I’m sure you can understand what I mean. What I learned is that not every mascara is created equally - by any means - and it’s really, really important to make sure you read reviews before you invest.

Mascara is one of the most toxic chemicals you could put on your face so if you’re prone to allergies from cosmetics, I strongly suggest you test my suggestions on a safe area of skin first before you start putting it anywhere around your eyes. That said, after trying a multitude of expensive vs. non-expensive products, I’ve narrowed it down to a single winner:

iT Cosmetics Superhero Elastic Stretch Volumizing Mascara

The clear winner by far, iT Cosmetics Superhero mascara transformed my super-straight, somewhat short eyelashes into extra-long waving sensual beauties that can be seen from miles away. While I’m somewhat kidding, I’m also somewhat not kidding.

This formula works amazing - I needed a teeny bit o’ help from a lash curler but WOW, the results are fab. I also don’t experience any flaking during the day which can get really annoying particularly at work when I realize, after a long day of meetings I’ve had black dust all over my face and no one told me?! Won’t happen with this mascara.

The packaging and form factor of the wand itself is really elegant - It has a shapely, tapered design that feels really nice. The wand is also easy to deal with and applies the product evenly with no clumps.

I like Wet n’ Wild cosmetics but this was an ultimate fail.

I’ll admit it: I was suckered in by the pretty packaging on this one. I thought it looked cool and the “ball tip” on the applicator was intriguing… until I used it and pretty much scratched the ever-loving crap out of my eyeball by accident.
The wand applicator is thinner than the ball tip, making it incredibly complex to apply without pretty much blinding yourself. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of this one.

So what have we learned? We’ve learned that in general, while its somewhat dangerous to step outside of one’s comfort zone, sometimes one finds a diamond in the rough that made the journey completely worth it! I hope you decide to try out iT Cosmetics Superhero mascara and find it as amazing as I do!
