Easy Healthy Eating Plan for 2020
A lot of people roll their eyes when they here someone else say that they are observing a New Years Resolution to get healthy and fit. Maybe you even rolled your eyes at the thought. But there’s nothing wrong with committing to a healthy diet in 2020 and there’s no reason why it has to be complicated!
Heck, it might actually be fun.
Here are a few tips on how to make it easy on yourself if you’ve got a particularly crazy work week.
SHE WHO FAILS TO PLAN, PLANS TO FAIL.
Sure, I’ve got an iPhone with a calendar that I use for bill paying, but for some reason it’s so much more efficient and fun to have a good ol’ book planner. There are a ton out there now that are super gorgeous and offer a wide variety of style sand sizes to fit your needs. I love BAN.DO planners because they have so many different types and have really cute accessories to help you keep on track and have fun doing it.
When you find one that speaks to you, get some post-it flags and write out all of your favorite healthy meals you know you can make on the quick. If you don’t trust yourself, or if you feel you need some more healthy recipes, Pinterest is a great place to find easy & fast healthy meals. Its great for when you’re completely clueless and need some inspiration.
I keep mine in the inside cover of my planner, and place them on the days of the week. It helps plan shopping tips and also keeps the meal prep fresh and exciting for your family.
SUNDAY, FUN DAY
Pick a day where you can prep your meals for the week. I am lucky that I can celebrate Sundays at home with my husband. We watch football and I cook / bake a bunch of things for the week, and I’m able to do it with a cocktail in one hand! Here’s an example of what I’ve got going on this week:
Breakfast:
Peanut Butter Banana Oatmeal Bars
I found these on a cute little blog site and the pictures had me like, “Whoa. I can do this.” There’s something about a grab-and-go breakfast that works for me more often than not so I tried this and it turned out great. Instead of a sheet pan I used a muffin pan and made 9 of these babies… came out fabulously.
Lunch:
Easy Greek Pasta Salad
Not only is this a quick, easy and healthy lunch but its so versatile. Great to bring to a friends house as a side dish! You can also add chicken or tuna if you’d like. It’s colorful, tasty, and the feta has a ton of protein that will satisfy your hunger during the work day.
Dinner:
Sheet Pan Parmesan Crusted Steak, Asparagus and Potato Meal
Sheet pan dinners are all the rage right now because they’re flippin’ delicious and easy. You’ve had a rough day and don’t feel like spending 40 minutes cooking when all you want to do is hop in the shower! A sheet pan dinner is perfect for you. Check out this delicious idea for Parm crusted steak which can be accompanied by any veggie you prefer. I just love sheet pan baby red potatoes - they’re even great for breakfast the next day with a sunny-side-up egg.

Ultimately, Pinterest = life for me when it comes to great, healthy meal ideas. Planning in advance saves time and brain space, and creates your shopping trip week-to-week. You’ll be excited to try new things with this, and you’ll be able to track your calories a lot easier.
Keep it up for 3 months - yes, 3 months!!! and you’ll break your bad habits and start getting into a healthy groove. Plan for Success in 2020!
